Leadership & Free Society

“It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.”

Sir Winston Churchill

A democratic free society brings with it a necessary level of inconsistency, otherwise it could not really be lauded as ‘free’.  In this video Jim Collins, famous author of the book Good to Great, describes the essential role that quality and responsible leadership plays if a free society is to function well.

The video is of a Collins speech given at Claremont University’s Drucker Centennial, honoring the internationally acclaimed management guru and social ecologist Peter Drucker.

It is my belief that a free society absent of moral restraint will breed greed, disorder, and injustice.   A democratic free society and capitalistic economy both require effective and moral leadership in order to arrive at their intended goals.  Join me in praying, not just for effective minds, but also for good hearts in our country.

Do you have any ideas on how ‘good hearts’ can be intentionally developed among our people?
