Welcome! My name is Nick Cook, and you have landed on my personal webpage.  More than anything, this site serves as a spot for me to organize my reflections on all things leadership.  I am organizing and sharing these reflections publicly in the hope that this exercise might prove helpful to anyone else who is also trying to grow as a leader.

I believe that many leaders are living in a quiet desperation – feeling worn down by the load that they carry and struggling to find purposeful balance between their personal life, their home life, and their aspiring calling & career.

Besides serving as a personal outlet for my own growth, I hope that what I share on this site might provide encouraging content, tools, and tips that can be utilized in building up the areas of life that matter most to you. The topics I focus on include:

Personal Leadership
Spiritual Growth
Health & Fitness

Family Leadership
The Home

Team Leadership
T he Process
E xpectations
A ccountability
M otivation

I will post as often as possible by sharing articles, podcasts, or video content on these important topics. If you also have interest in these areas of leadership, the easiest way to get familiar with my site is to subscribe by registering your email address in the sidebar at the bottom right hand corner of the page.

I currently reside in the Chicago, Illinois area with my beautiful wife Sheila, and our two sons, Nathan and Shane. We enjoy spending time in scripture, reading books, exercising, watching sports, spending time with extended family, and eating ice cream. We also enjoy spending time with our Football Family, as I am currently a teacher and Head Football Coach at a fantastic Christian High School, just outside of Chicago.

Early in adulthood, I became intrigued with the world of effective leadership and particularly the successful leadership of teams. After winning three NCAA National Championships as an athlete and one as a coach with Ohio State Football in 2002, I eventually determined that helping teams and the individuals within them, was a part of my calling in life.

Professionally, this calling has afforded me the privilege of providing leadership in a variety of settings including collegiate athletics, ministry in the local church, secondary education & administration, para-church ministry, and small business.

This wide variety of leadership experiences has given me a passion for helping leaders of all kinds to become healthy enough to achieve the growth and success that they so passionately desire.
